Standing Seam

“Standing Seam is one of the most versatile and popular cladding systems as it adapts well to complex designs to achieve clean and structured lines.”

Standing Seam from Colorspan Industries is a cladding system that is perfectly suited for application on both roofing and wall facades. A flexible and adaptive cladding profile in that it is not limited to flat surface applications, it can be easily fixed to several different surfaces including curved, concave, convex, dome, conical and combinations of these to create wave effects. This makes it an exceptionally effective contemporary architectural cladding profile for building structures with complex designs.

“This Classic Modern Profile offers a traditional aesthetic to avoid the industrial style of other cladding systems.”

Availability

Available in a range of pan widths and lengths of up to 8 metres, the Standing Seam panel cladding system will meet your building construction requirements. The longitudinal ribbed aspect combined with vast finishing options including Colorbond, Copper, Weathering Steel, Aluminium, Zinc, and Stainless Steel will create a truly unique style for your building project.

Profile Details

A flexible and adaptive profile; the Standing Seam is an exceptionally effective cladding option for building structures with basic or intricate designs.

Our Standing Seam profile comprises a fully recessed pan with a raised/standing seam of either 25mm or 38mm in height.

The overall effect of a structure covered by this cladding is a series continuous flowing thick bands neatly framed by thin ribs. This lends to a range of effects through a combination of light, shadows, the material used and finish to produce a dynamic visual impact. This profile can be installed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

Advantages

One of the advantages of using Standing Seam panels is the variable pan width which can be adjusted to control the spacing between windows and doorways With this, the ribs finish neatly along with the frames or shut lines.

Installation

Installation of standing seam cladding requires a firm and continuous support (usually plywood) that is ventilated from the load bearing structure to which it is fixed. The Standing Seam cladding sections are fixed using steel clips at a 300mm maximum centres which are fixed to the plywood. The profile incorporates a male and female rib which work together to lap each other and be crimped together to create a strong sealed joint which is ideal for buildings exposed to severe weather applications such as strong winds, heavy rain, coastal spray and snowfall.
